Middlesex Rugby is responsible for growing and developing grassroots and community rugby throughout the County and for providing opportunities for elite players to progress their career paths through representative rugby.
As the official RFU governing body for Middlesex, we have a number of committees which oversee all aspects of the game from governance and discipline to running minis festivals. These include Governance, Community Rugby, Coach & Player Development which manages the Team Middlesex representative squads, Competitions, Middlesex Club 7s, Marketing and Finance.

Honorary Girls Competition Support Officers
The RFU is seeking a number of support officers to join their Rugby Events and Competitions team, reporting to the Competition Executive for Women and Girls. These are honorary posts.
As the Girls game grows is seeking volunteers to support its existing workforce. Reporting to the Competition Executive for Women and Girls, the Honorary Competition Support Officers will help the RFU Competition’s Executive and Development staff in the running of the Girls Area and National Cup Competition, which will include:
Support the running of the National Cup competition at the Area level throughout the season.
Monitor the playing of and reporting of matches, to include ensuring results are reported in
Help shape the future of the competition offering to best meet the needs of the game.
The Honorary Competition Support Officers will also initiate consultation and research as appropriate, looking to gain participant and non-participant feedback, review other and best practice and gain intelligence in order to develop innovative and effective competition structures and programmes to enhance the quality of experience and develop and grow participation in the game.
Honorary Competition Support Officers will receive expenses for Area and National meetings or events.
Should have at least two years’ experience in a position of responsibility in a Women or Girls rugby section – either in a professional or voluntary role.
Must have a good all round knowledge of rugby and will preferably have some prior experience or involvement in the RFU Competitions and/or their club committees

Will convey a professional demeanor and ambassadorial qualities
Must demonstrate tact and diplomacy. Must be extremely trustworthy
Must have excellent organisational and IT skills
Will be sensitive to and aware of outside factors and influences which may impact on the Competitions Committee
Must be “customer service” driven, with an orientation towards serving the needs of all clubs
Must have excellent written and communication skills

Women and Girls Liaison Officer
Middlesex Rugby is looking to recruit a Women and Girls Liaison Officer to support development of the women and girls game of rugby union within Middlesex and act as the main liaison point between the county and the RFU.
This is a voluntary role, and the successful candidate will sit on the Middlesex Rugby Community Rugby Committee, reporting in at monthly meetings. The W&G Liaison Officer will also have input into the Middlesex Rugby Annual Delivery Plan and budgets for the women and girls game.
As part of the development of the Women and Girls game you will need to liaise and work with some or all of the below:
- RFU Women’s Rugby Development Officers
- RFU Rugby Development Officers and Community Rugby Coaches
- Middlesex Rugby Marketing Committee
- Middlesex Competitions Committee
- Middlesex Club 7s Committee
This is a newly formed women’s cup competition for teams in National Challenge 2 and below. You will chair the sub-committee (which reports into both Community Rugby and Competitions) to ensure the competition develops each year and is run smoothly and within budget.
St George’s Day Festival
The St George’s Day Festival has been a jointly run festival between Middlesex Rugby and the RFU for U13, U15 and U18 girls. In 2015, Middlesex Rugby will take on the full organisation of the festival, with support from the RFU. This festival grows each year and is currently held at Wasps in April (26th April 2015).

LRP North (Year 2) – Hackney, Hampstead, Haringey, Kilburn Cosmos and Saracens
LRP (Year 3) – Clubs to be identified e.g. Ealing, Harlequins, London Scottish, London Welsh, Pinner (tbc)
LRP Forum – All clubs with women and girls sections
To work with the RFU Women’s Rugby Development Officer (WRDO) to ensure that the Middlesex clubs continue to work together, meet up and discuss the development of the game, in line with the Middlesex LRP clubs’ charter.
U13 girls rugby
There is a large drop off in girls moving from Mini Rugby at U12 to U13 girls rugby, especially as there are only a few clubs within Middlesex that offer U13s girls rugby. To work with WRDO, RDOs and CRCs on identifying clubs with U10, U11 and U12 girls and linking them into U13 girls clubs.
To identify volunteers in the women and girls game to support your role and to bring in as representatives on CB committees.
You will also be expected to encourage W&G clubs to enter the Middlesex Rugby President VII and individual Volunteer Awards and be aware of the women and girls county programme and development pathways.

Team Middlesex seeks managers
Managers are required for the Team Middlesex age grade rugby teams from U14s – U18s
These are key positions where the appointed person will work closely with the relevant Director of Rugby in supporting the new playing strategy for Age Grade Rugby in Middlesex.
More detailed duties will include assisting the Head Coach in the execution of his / her duties by maintaining contact with the players for training and games and organising the booking of venues, catering arrangements, medical provision, transport arrangements, equipment logistics and confirming arrangements with the opposition, and match officials.
