2017 Award Winners
The Volunteer Appreciation Awards are the county’s way of recognising the hard work and commitment of our club volunteers without whom our clubs could not function.
About the Awards
Volunteer Appreciation Awards are made in four categories: 30 Year Service award which recognises volunteers who have given thirty years or more service to their clubs; the President’s VII awards which recognise clubs who have performed exceptionally well in one of seven areas of activity chosen by the President; the Individual Awards which recognise outstanding achievements of individual volunteers (one from each geographical group, and one overall winner), and the Young Volunteer of the Year award, which as it’s name suggests, recognises the contribution made by a young volunteer under the age of 23.
Once the nominations are received and collated, they are published on the website enabling club members to vote for the Individual Award nominee they think is the most deserving of being recognised by the County.
These awards recognise individual volunteers that have been nominated by their club for making a difference in any area of club activity. One winner is chosen from each group (North, North West, West and South) as well as an overall winner. Winners are chosen by public vote.
There are no predefined categories, you can nominate anybody who deserves to be recognised and rewarded.
Young Volunteer of the Year Award
This award recognises the young volunteer (under 23) who has made the most significant contribution to his or her club during the season.
30 Year Award
The prestigious 30 Year Award is presented to volunteers who have given 30 years or more service to their club. Clubs should put forward any volunteers they have who meet this criteria.
President’s VII Awards
These awards are presented to clubs in categories chosen by Middlesex President, Bob Lawless. Details of all the categories are given on the website, along with a guide to writing a nomination. The winners are selected by the President. The categories of the President’s Awards will be communicated in due course.
