Middlesex Rugby competitions chairman Andy Smart will be attending an RFU Lower XV Organiser Conference in Coventry on Sunday 17th January 2016. The conference is aimed at people who run Merit Tables throughout the county and will include topics such as the Lower XV Competitions Review implementation including an update on the various pilot schemes.
“This will be an opportunity for me to see how other merit tables deal with some of the issues facing us at the moment and in particular around front rows and walkovers,” explains Smart. “I have any number of things I want to raise but if there is something that you would like addressed then please let me know.”
Following the conference and to address some of the issues facing the Middlesex Merit Table, Smart will be holding a meeting on Wednesday 27th January 2016 at Ruislip RFC. The main focus of the meeting will be the Merit Tables but if there is enough demand, the agenda will be opened up to include all the senior competitions run by the County.
“This is an opportunity for all Middlesex clubs, not only those in the Merit Tables, to make a significant contribution in determining how the Merit Tables and other Middlesex competitions go forward” adds Smart. It is important that those people run the playing side of their clubs such as Directors of Rugby, head coaches and club captains, as well as those running sides in the Merit Tables are in attendance.
” At least one person from each club should attend” adds Smart, “but ideally all those listed previously’. To help me frame what we want from the meeting, to see how many and who will be attending and for the catering, we have put together a brief attendance form.”
To the meeting on 27th January, please complete and submit the online attendance form by Sunday 24th January 2016.
