Women & Girls Liaison Officer
Middlesex Rugby is looking to recruit a Women and Girls Liaison Officer to support development of the women and girls game of rugby union within Middlesex and act as the main liaison point between the county and the RFU.
This is a voluntary role, and the successful candidate will sit on the Middlesex Rugby Community Rugby Committee, reporting in at monthly meetings. The W&G Liaison Officer will also have input into the Middlesex Rugby Annual Delivery Plan and budgets for the women and girls game.
As part of the development of the Women and Girls game you will need to liaise and work with some or all of the below:
- RFU Women’s Rugby Development Officers
- RFU Rugby Development Officers and Community Rugby Coaches
- Middlesex Rugby Marketing Committee
- Middlesex Competitions Committee
- Middlesex Club 7s Committee
This is a newly formed women’s cup competition for teams in National Challenge 2 and below. You will chair the sub-committee (which reports into both Community Rugby and Competitions) to ensure the competition develops each year and is run smoothly and within budget.
St George’s Day Festival
The St George’s Day Festival has been a jointly run festival between Middlesex Rugby and the RFU for U13, U15 and U18 girls. In 2015, Middlesex Rugby will take on the full organisation of the festival, with support from the RFU. This festival grows each year and is currently held at Wasps in April (26th April 2015).

U13 girls rugby
There is a large drop off in girls moving from Mini Rugby at U12 to U13 girls rugby, especially as there are only a few clubs within Middlesex that offer U13s girls rugby. To work with WRDO, RDOs and CRCs on identifying clubs with U10, U11 and U12 girls and linking them into U13 girls clubs.
To identify volunteers in the women and girls game to support your role and to bring in as representatives on CB committees.
You will also be expected to encourage W&G clubs to enter the Middlesex Rugby President VII and individual Volunteer Awards and be aware of the women and girls county programme and development pathways.
