Middlesex put in an excellent performance on their first County game, scoring 3 tries by James Hennessy, Eden Richards, and Zion Marcolongo.

The scoreline was a close affair through the game with excellent core skills on show by both teams. However it was Sussex who scored on the final whistle nudging ahead by 4 tries to 3 and putting the final score at 15 – 27 to the visitors

Middlesex U18 v Sussex

Team Middlesex got off to a good start and were rewarded with an excellent individual try by full back Reon Joseph, duly converted by fly-half Ciarian Poynter but Sussex were soon to respond with an unconverted try.

Team Middlesex Women v Essex

Middlesex got their season back on track with a dominant performance over Essex at East London RFC. It was the hosts that started better however, after a mistake in the Middlesex defence Saracens winger Eloise Bloomfield ran in from 55 metres, the score was converted and Essex led 7-0.

Team Middlesex Women v Kent

Team Middlesex Senior Women started their season with an exciting yet disappointing defeat to Kent at Staines. Early signs were good as Middlesex dominated from the off with centre Anna Glyn-Davies scoring from close range in the corner to lead 5-0.

Following last season’s 24-24 points draw, Team Middlesex were looking forward to the latest game against a Navy President’s XV at Imber Court on Wednesday.

Good Friday festival of Rugby

The annual Good Friday Festival of Rugby between Buckinghamshire v Middlesex took place on Friday 25th March 2016 at Amersham & Chiltern RFC, the 3rd year of this festival which has grown from one game at U16s in 2014, to cover four of the age groups.

Sussex v Team Middlesex U20s

On a bright but windy and freezing day on the south coast, Middlesex kicked off into the wind at Brighton. Sussex applied the early pressure, testing a good Middlesex defence.

Eventually after 11 minutes, Sussex went wide and scored their first try, missing the conversion. Straight from the restart Sussex attacked strongly and two minutes later crossed the line again.

In a high paced game which started in fog and ended in brilliant sunshine at Old Merchant Taylors’ ground Middlesex just missed out on their first win of the season.
