Middlesex RugbySenior Women : Middlesex Rugby

Senior Women

With Women’s rugby going from strength to strength and the success of the first year of the Tyrells Premiership, Middlesex Rugby plays an important part in the development of the Women’s and Girls’ game across the county.

Team Middlesex aims to develop players through age group representation and advanced coaching to feed the senior squad and transition from development to performance. As part of the squad, players are exposed to a higher level of coaching, support and encouragement to enable them to fulfil their ambitions.

The Middlesex Senior Women Season normally kicks off in January hosting trial games but will depend on the RFU return to rugby schedule.

Players are selected to represent Team Middlesex according to their performance in trials. Trial participants are assessed on seven key areas: work ethic, handling, defence, contact, running and evasion skill, decision making and overall effectiveness. There will be a number of training and development sessions for squad members throughout the season in line with the age grade calendar.

There are also opportunities for any talented and enthusiastic female U15 or U18 players to join the squad at open development sessions.

Middlesex is clustered with Essex & Hertfordshire & triangular tournaments are scheduled during February & March. All players participate in 15 Aside – Full pitch 7’s & XRugby fixtures.
