Middlesex appoint Emma Wiggs MBE and Blaine Hunt to the Middlesex County RFU board

Two medal winning Paralympians to join Middlesex Rugby.
Emma joins the board as an Independent Non-Executive director, she will help the board navigate key strategic and managerial issues to ensure that the county meets its performance objective, its governing body objectives and the needs of its members.
As well as being a triple gold medal Paralympian, Emma is a keynote speaker, ambassador and mentor. She has worked with a range of corporate organisations sharing High Performance strategies and mindsets. Emma is passionate about enabling people to unleash their potential and through her work hopes to help others succeed and also challenge the lack of diversity in sport, particularly at a senior level; she is a performance champion at Vitality, and she is also working in partnership with Caravan and Motorhome Club supporting disabled access.

Blaine joins the board as Director who will provide leadership and direction on special projects that will enable the board to meet its strategic objectives and enhance the way the county engages with its members especially in terms of diversity & inclusion within the sport. .
Blaine Hunt is a British para-cyclist, who won silver in the time trial C4–5 at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris. Prior to his professional cycling career, Hunt worked in the television industry, covering major sporting events such as the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Champions League for major UK broadcasters. He still works periodically for Reuters news agency. Now, in addition to his own competitive racing, Blaine is a qualified British Cycling track coach and founder of his own coaching business.
Blaine said I am honoured to join the board at Middlesex and contribute to the sport that has shaped my life. Rugby has been my passion since I was young, starting with Ruislip RFU and representing Middlesex at age 15. The journey that followed has far exceeded anything I could have imagined. I look forward to leveraging my experiences and the skills I’ve gained over the years to strengthen our board and support the clubs and players across the county. Together, we can continue to build a thriving rugby community.
