U18 Boys County PDG Foundation – Nominations for season 2025/26

We are now accepting nominations for the upcoming U18 Boys County rugby program which will take place from October 2025 until end of December 2025.
About the program
County rugby for age grade development is an official RFU program designed to give players an aspirational training and playing experience. Middlesex Rugby prides itself for leading the way in its approach to training and creating all round athletes feeding into further player pathway opportunities. We try to ensure their experience with us is rewarding and gives all involved a fuller understanding of themselves and the game they play. We recognise not all will make it to premier level and we will guide the boys through club and county options as they develop as elite players.
Assessments Sunday 26th October, 2025
We do our very best to make the assessments as stress free and enjoyable as possible so that even if unsuccessful in final selection the candidates have a positive experience. We look for quick decision making abilities, positive attitude, team work, leadership, positional specific skills and awareness as well as the core skills of catch & pass, evasion and contact work.
Selection and training sessions
When final selection is made, unsuccessful candidates will be given individual feedback to reflect on their work-ons. For those selected, you will receive details of the sessions that will be held through out the season. Sessions will take place Friday evenings except for playing opportunities which will be on Sunday afternoons. We adhere to the RFU framework and provide a balance of training and playing opportunities. As the U18 programme is so short we do require a high level of commitment so that the players can properly develop, understand our set pieces and be part of the squad.
