Middlesex put in a splendid display of running rugby at Old Merchant Taylors ground on Sunday 8th January 2017.
This game followed on from a fine performance against Berkshire at Maidenhead

This game produced much flare from the talent on show. And with the all weather 3g surface the match was played at a sound pace.

Sussex U17 v Team Middlesex U17

After the long difficult journey to Hove RFC, Team Middlesex U17 players were disrupted with long delays on the M25. This did little for the rushed pre-game preparation as Middlesex faced a strong Sussex side.

Team Middlesex U15 v London Irish Academy U15

Following a cancelled game by Hampshire U15s, Middlesex U15s took on London Irish Academy U15s, in an 11 try thriller with Middlesex coming out on top 6 tries to 5.

Middlesex put in an excellent performance on their first County game, scoring 3 tries by James Hennessy, Eden Richards, and Zion Marcolongo.

The scoreline was a close affair through the game with excellent core skills on show by both teams. However it was Sussex who scored on the final whistle nudging ahead by 4 tries to 3 and putting the final score at 15 – 27 to the visitors

Middlesex U18 v Sussex

Team Middlesex got off to a good start and were rewarded with an excellent individual try by full back Reon Joseph, duly converted by fly-half Ciarian Poynter but Sussex were soon to respond with an unconverted try.

Surrey v Team Middlesex Senior Women

Middlesex Women came within ten minutes of qualifying for the semi-finals, but it was not to be as Surrey scored two late tries to shade a close encounter.

Team Middlesex Women v Essex

Middlesex got their season back on track with a dominant performance over Essex at East London RFC. It was the hosts that started better however, after a mistake in the Middlesex defence Saracens winger Eloise Bloomfield ran in from 55 metres, the score was converted and Essex led 7-0.
