awards and recognition for every section of our club, and are looking to build on our continued growth and
offer our players the best possible experience.

2ND XV / ASSISTANT COACH
We are looking for an Assistant Coach to join our Adult coaching team, taking responsibility for our 2nd XV on
match days.
• L2 Coaching qualification with experience coaching adult players.
• Positive, inclusive and adaptable in your coaching.
• A willingness to learn and develop your coaching, and work as an integral part of a team.
• £20 p/h. Travel incl.

3RD XV / ASSISTANT COACH
We’re looking for an Assistant Coach to join our Adult Coaching team, taking responsibility for
our 3rd XV on match days. This role is ideally suited to someone starting on their coaching
journey, and may suit a Player/Coach.

UCS Old Boys looking for a new Coach

UCS Old Boys RFC of North London currently playing in Herts/Middx Division 2 (level 10) are looking for a new head coach.

Role & responsibilities

  • To lead the coaching for the 1st XV and rest of the club;
  • Plan, prepare and deliver individual coaching sessions for the Clubs 1st XV squad where appropriate;
  • Ensure that all sessions are designed to develop the skills and understanding of the players in your squad;
  • Attend selection committee as required;
  • Attend all coaching sessions, matches involved with the Clubs senior squad;
  • Mentor and advise assistant coaches and players where appropriate;
  • Evaluate all coaching sessions and games with the coaching team and players;
  • Delegation – the 1st XV coach needs to be able to delegate agreed responsibilities to the wider 1st XV coaching team to ensure that they feel valued and their expertise is used effectively;
  • Attend and embrace all England Rugby development opportunities within reason to continue and enhance self-improvement.

ENFIELD IGNATIANS RFC – ASSISTANT PLAYER COACH POSITION

Enfield Ignatians RFC is looking for an Assistant Backs player/coach, (a Level 2 coaching qualification would be preferable, but not essential. Applications from those able to demonstrate recent coaching experience will also be considered) to join our Club to both play and coach immediately.

With regards to playing, the successful applicant would have regularly represented a 1st XV, playing at level 6 or above and be available for selection for Enfield Ignatians RFC 1st XV on a weekly basis. With respect to the coaching role, they would work under the head coach, assisting him with his tasks of game plan development, game-plan execution, new talent identification & existing individual player development.

This role will also include assisting in coaching the technical and tactical development of players within the 2nd XV which forms the larger senior squad from which the 1st XV draws, and, a contribution to the Youth Section Coaching, including the aforementioned Youth Academy (the club’s future 1st XV players), and the ongoing up-skilling of the club’s rugby coaches.

The club currently has 4 senior teams, including a thriving vets side, 12 youth/mini Teams and a recently introduced a Youth Academy, incorporating our U16, U17 and Colts Teams . We pride ourselves on our welcoming culture and the high standards we set across all our teams.

Haringey Rhinos seek new Senior Men’s Head Coach

Haringey Rhinos are now seeking a Senior Men’s Head Coach to ensure our teams reach their
full potential. As Senior Men’s Head Coach, you will be responsible for coordinating and
delivering pre/in-season training sessions, squad selection, pre-match preparation and
post-game player debrief for the senior men’s sides. The ideal coach will be Level 2
qualified and keen to support the club’s development and expansion. This is a great
opportunity for someone with a passion for coaching, looking for a friendly, ambitious club.
The history at Rhinos is impressive with representation at British Police Rugby level, youth
players who had unprecedented county success and have an exciting development plan in
place which includes: Development of transitioning youth players; delivery of inclusive
rugby; becoming an O2 Touch Centre and the development of a North London annual 7s/
10s event.

Haringey Rhinos RFC is a thriving rugby union club in Haringey. Based at New River Sport
and Fitness, White Hart Lane (N22 5QW), the Rhinos have access to a floodlit grass pitch, a
further grass pitch and additional grass training areas. We are settling in to our new
clubhouse nicely and our current drive is to become the North London hub for all things
rugby.

The Rhinos hold England Rugby Whole Club Accreditation and the Sport England
Clubmark. We work closely with England Rugby, local schools and other community
organisations to develop rugby union in Haringey.
The club is home to a senior men’s team, a ladies team and an ever growing youth section
(circa 200 players aged 5-17).

Currently the Men play in Middlesex Merit 3 with ambition to re-enter the Herts/Middlesex
leagues. We have around 25 active players who use. We have a selection committee
comprising current team captain and senior players who choose the teams. The results
from the last two seasons don’t reflect the talent and drive of the playing pool and someone
who is keen to develop strong & committed players would flourish at Haringey.
Training currently takes place every Thursday, from 7.30pm – 9.00pm, and games are
played on Saturdays as required by the league.

We pride ourselves on inclusive approach and everyone is made to feel welcome,
regardless of age or ability. For the right candidate, who shares the ambitions of the
existing player base, the future is very bright for the Rhinos.

Hammersmith & Fulham RFC wish to recruit an Assistant Coach for our Ladies squads to help deliver the team’s
objective of securing promotion to Championship South whilst supporting the 2nd XV in Challenge Series South East
South.

Who are we?
Hammersmith & Fulham Ladies were formed in 2003 and have grown to become an experienced squad with a first team playing in Championship South East 2, and a Development squad launched last year that has progressed to playing League rugby in the 2019-20 season. The squad is a part of Hammersmith & Fulham RFC (‘the Hammers’) which is one of London’s largest and most successful amateur Rugby clubs, with an ethos of playing high-level rugby, an inclusive and welcoming culture and a renowned social scene.
Hammersmith and Fulham Ladies RFC is more than just a Rugby club, it’s a home, and we’re looking for a passionate, self-motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Coach to be part of it.

Who are we looking for?
Backed by their newly formed coaching team, our Ladies squads are ready to take on their new challenges. Whether it
is our 1st XV aiming for promotion to Championship South or our 2nd XV looking to flourish in Challenge Series South East South, we are looking for an Assistant Coach to join us for the 2019-20 season and beyond. Working in conjunction with the Head Coach and supported by the Captains of the Ladies teams, as well as the Ladies Committee, we would look to the Assistant Coach to support the creation of a challenging and supporting environment for both experienced and new players.

The Assistant Coach will be expected to:

  • Contribute to the planning and delivering of training sessions twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7.30-
    9pm) during the season (August to April), availability for pre-season/summer training can be discussed
  • Assist the Head Coach with match day squad selection
  • Support the squad on match days (Sundays), both home and away
  • Hold a minimum of the RFU Rugby Ready and CPD Scrum Factory and demonstrate a willingness to
    achieving RFU Level 2 coaching with club support
  • Experience of coaching an adult side
  • Have a genuine interest in being a part of the squad and a passion for player development and to helpprogress and promote women’s rugby

HAMPSTEAD RFC 2nd TEAM COACH

Hampstead RFC is looking for a coach for the men’s 2nd Team, working under Head Coach Peter Breen to develop Hampstead’s brand of attractive, attacking rugby.

There is funding available for remuneration in accordance with RFU regulations 7.2.

The candidate does not have to have taken their level 2 exams, though that would be an advantage. The candidate would, however, be expected to take such courses during their time at the club (full remuneration).  The position would ideally suit an experienced player from Level 5 or above looking to move into coaching.  It could also suit an ambitious coach looking to develop a growing talent pool of enthusiastic, ambitious players at north one of North London’s leading clubs.

The candidate should possess a passion for developing people and players, team performance and all aspects of rugby within the club. The candidate will assist Peter during weekly training sessions, and take specialist sessions focused on technical and tactical development of players in the 2nd Team squad from which the 1st XV team is also drawn. The candidate would be responsible on match day for the 2nd’s kit, the balls and decide the substitutions. The coach would also be responsible for training for the 3s and 4s. 

The Club has use of excellent outdoor facilities, in with a floodlit training area at Hampstead Heath, and modern, all-weather facilities in north London. 

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will be display an appreciation of the importance of all technical and tactical components of rugby, thorough analysis, planning and organisational skills. Working with Peter, you will help articulate and deliver a vision and game plan for the 2nd Team. You should have the ability to develop people and either prove you have done this or be willing to learn how to.

Good communication skills (verbal and written) and proven ability to build strong, mutually-beneficial relationships with players, team volunteers and other key stakeholders from the Executive and club at large.

You will have the ability to educate and inspire, and will also demonstrate the ability to work on your own and as part of an integrated performance focused team. A high level of Rugby literacy and experience in understanding the demands of both the modern club player at this level and the club’s own demands and limitations (financial and operational) at this level is essential.

Since forming in 1978, Hammersmith & Fulham RFC (‘the Hammers’) has grown into one of London’s largest amateur Rugby clubs with 5 men’s teams (4 men’s teams and a vets) competing in the RFU leagues and Middlesex merit tables & cups, a vibrant vets team, 2 ladies teams and a large youth section.

Who are we looking for?
After twelve seasons in London 2 North West (Level 7) broken up by a single season in London 1, we are looking for a Head Coach to lead our club back to London 1 (level 6). Supported by the club captain, the team captains, assistant coaches and club physios, you will help accomplish this by providing our men’s teams with the tools to achieve success in their leagues. Your core duties will be:
• Shape and implement a rugby philosophy that can be consistently applied by all four men’s teams.
• Devise and deliver a coaching plan for the whole season.
• Lead and develop the coaching team.
• Support the First XV on match days.
• Evaluate match performances and training sessions and evolve the coaching program as necessary;
• Build and embed a process to identify and develop playing talent in all squads across the Club and
• provide clear, constructive, honest feedback to individual players on how they can improve;
A Level 2 coaching certificate or above or international equivalent is preferred but not essential.

Coaching Roles at Belsize Park

Development Coach  –  Backs Coach  –  Women’s Coach

Belsize Park are the most central club in London, playing in Regents Park and training in Coram Fields. As a strictly amateur club, we have five senior men’s teams, plus a Vets team, offering rugby suitable for all levels of ability including social. www.bprfc.co.uk Over 350 adult male players represent Belsize Park each season. We have achieved over 15 promotions across our four league sides in the past 9 years, and each of our sides are playing in their highest-ever level of competition. We are now adding a new women’s team in the 2019-20 season. Our men’s 1st XV compete in London 1 South (Level 6) and our 2nd XV compete in Middlesex Merit Table Premier Division.

Development Coach

We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive and knowledgeable Development Coach to oversee and coach our Development Squads (3rd, 4th, Bulls – 5th). Our development squads provide a wide range of highly competitive and social rugby to improve intermediate level players and welcome many returners or new players into the game. Our 3rd team play at a high level and often contain many former 1st XV players. We believe this is a fantastic opportunity for a coach to develop in a fun and rewarding environment. This role will be supported by the existing senior coaching team at Belsize which includes several seasoned coaches.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and assisting existing volunteer coaches to achieve their full potential
  • Drive consistency of game strategy and match day practises
  • Input and design training session plans and programme
  • Improving basic skills across all players
  • Oversee selection and deliver feedback to players in concert with the respective team coach(es)
  • Design and deliver a “rugby from scratch” programme from new joiners who have not played the game before
  • Attend Wednesday training sessions (Coram Fields 7-9pm WC1N. Preseason in Hyde Park on Mondays and Wednesdays in July/August)
  • Attend Saturday matchdays (alternating between the three squads – home games in Regent’s Park)
  • Direct report to Director of Rugby

Required attributes

  • Level 2 coaching course completed (or in the process thereof). Preferred but not essential.
  • Coaching experience – preferably two or more seasons
  • Ability to lead the development of basic skills
  • Knowledgeable of all facets of the game
  • Enthusiastic and personable
  • Appreciation of Social rugby

 

Backs Coach

We are seeking an experienced Backs Coach to help coach our Performance Squads (1st & 2nd XV) and provide some guidance to our Development Squad Coaches. We will consider recently retired and experienced players for this role also.

Responsibilities

  • Train key skills and coach game plan and strategy to backline
  • Input to matchday selection and deliver feedback to players
  • Input and design training session plans and programme
  • Improving key skills across all players
  • Overseeing and assisting existing volunteer coaches to achieve their full potential
  • Attend Wednesday training sessions (Coram Fields 7-9pm WC1N. Preseason in Hyde Park on Mondays and Wednesdays in July/August)
