ROLE DESCRIPTION.

Reports to: Chair of Playing & Player Development Team Middlesex.
Key Relationships: Head and Assistant Coaches, Chair of Playing Middlesex, Medical team, Opposition Contacts, Managers of Other Middlesex CB squads.
Nature & scope of job: The post-holder will contribute to the planning and management of the CB programme whilst providing a positive playing environment.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure Middlesex’s objectives for the CB programme are achieved by contributing to the preparation & organisation of the CB’s programme.
  • Work in conjunction with the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches and Director of Rugby to facilitate the selection of players for representative teams.
  • Ensure communication links are maintained between players, coaches, CB officials and families.
  • Attend any required meetings of the delivery team and be the squad’s representative at all times.
  • Ensure the coaching and playing squad present themselves as ambassadors for the Middlesex Rugby.
  • Complete all appropriate administrative paperwork.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Self-motivated, committed and well-organised.
  • Excellent communication skills including IT literacy.
  • Support a playing environment that balances player development with team performance.
  • To be a figure of respect, passing on knowledge where appropriate and acting as a role model.

ROLE DESCRIPTION.

Reports to: Chair of Playing & Player Development Team Middlesex.
Key Relationships: CB Coaches and Medical Staff
Nature & scope of job: The post-holders will be responsible for planning and coaching Middlesex Senior Women’s County squad whilst providing a positive and aspirational playing environment.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the CB’s objectives are achieved by creating an aspirational and supportive playing environment.
  • Ensure players receive the highest quality coaching and feedback.
  • Work in conjunction with the Team Manager to select the best players from Middlesex Clubs.
  • Evaluate all coaching sessions and games with the CB squad delivery team.
  • Attend delivery team meetings.
  • Participate in an annual performance review.
  • Ensure the coaching and playing squad present themselves as ambassadors for Middlesex Rugby and act within the Core Values of the sport.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Hold a minimum RFU / UKCC Level 2 Coaching Qualification – ideally Level 3 or its recognized equivalent.
  • Demonstrate a track record of personal coach development.
  • Articulates and delivers a clear playing and coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the objectives of the programme.
  • A Player Centred approach to coaching.
  • Create a performance environment which balances Player Development and Outcome.
  • Sets high standards of accountability, reliability and personal responsibility.
  • A commitment to attend all fixtures and training sessions.
  • Ability to use original thinking in the execution of the role.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders and recruit plus retain players.
