Middlesex Vice President John D M King died on Saturday 12th November 2016 in hospital. John, who was an Old Millhillian, was a loyal devotee to the cause of Middlesex Rugby. As a member of the marketing committee, for fourteen years he was the editor of the Middlesex Informer, the county newsletter he founded, and the precursor to Middlesex Matters magazine.
In 2010 he was awarded a special achievement award to recognise the sterling work he has done for the County. The presentation was made by Middlesex president Paul Astbury at Twickenham Stadium during the 2010 Middlesex Charity 7s.
“This is very sad news. He was tireless in his commitment to the County and the publication” said Brenda Hobday, who for a number of years was chairman of the Marketing Committee.
Current marketing committee member and county photographer added, “This is dreadful news. He was the man who introduced me to Middlesex Rugby. He was a thoroughly good chap.”
Our thoughts are with his wife Edwina, and his family at this sad time.
Details of his funeral arrangements will be posted soon.
