Background
Haringey Rhinos RFC is a thriving rugby union club in Haringey, North London. Based at New River Sport and Fitness, White Hart Lane (N22 5QW), facilities include, two grass pitches, access to a 3G floodlit pitch and our own clubhouse located next to New River Sports Centre.
The Rhinos hold England Rugby Whole Club Accreditation and the Sport England Clubmark. We work closely with England Rugby, local schools and other community organisations to develop rugby union in Haringey.
The club is home to a senior men’s team, a women’s team and fast growing youth section (circa 200 players aged 5-17).
The team
The team gained promotion to NC1 SE league in 2020, undefeated and winning the league by February, making it our most successful season to date. The team were amongst only six teams nationally to have also been shortlisted for the Gallagher Grassroots Club of the Year Award. We have over 40 active players, are expanding at pace and are seeking to launch a development side imminently. We have an active committee of player volunteers who orchestrate the ladies team’s activities.
We have just completed our seventh season but in that time has built significant momentum, progressing up the league table, gaining promotion and regularly sending players to represent at county level. The club have an exciting development plan in place which includes: development of transitioning youth players; delivery of inclusive rugby; becoming an O2 Touch Centre; and the development of a North London Annual 7s event.
Training takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, from 7.30pm – 9pm, and during the season games are played on Sundays as required by the league.
The coach
The Rhinos are seeking a Senior Women’s Coach to build on the work of our outgoing head coach, preparing for the upcoming season. In this role you will be expected to
The ideal coach would have:
- Minimum of a Level 2 coaching qualification
- Experience as a head coach
- Experience coaching women’s rugby
- Experience transitioning youth players into a senior squad
- Enthusiasm to support the team’s development and progression
