Message regarding letter from RFU Chief Executive Bill Sweeney

Posted on 27 March 2020

Dear Club Colleagues,

I hope you are all safe and well. Middlesex are fully committed to supporting our clubs during these unprecedented and challenging times. We appreciate that there are a lot of questions and uncertainty around the current situation.

We would like you to get in touch with any issues and concerns you may have or be facing.

We’d also like to hear about any ideas or solutions you have for keeping your members engaged and your clubs sustainable for when we can get back into playing and running rugby, and we will get there.

Please do get in contact with Lou Latter, Chair of Rugby Development in the first instance – or alternatively contact your Group Officer. This will ensure we can identify the challenges you, as our clubs, face. Where possible, we would ask you share any projected loss of income/revenue over the next 6 months to help us identify where we need to support our clubs.

We continue to work closely with the RFU and are pleased to share the announcement (below) that has come out from RFU Chief Executive Bill Sweeney around the £7m support package for community clubs in England.

Kind Regards

Bob Lawless
Middlesex President
