Middlesex Age Grade Rugby Update – Meeting, 12 November 2025

Posted on 18 November 2025

The recent Age Grade meeting led by Waheed Aslam (Chair Age Grade Rugby at Middlesex RFU) focused on key developments across regulations, funding, coaching & training, player pathways and other Middlesex age grade initiatives.

The Regulation 15 review seeks clearer, user-friendly rules, with feedback due by November. Girls’ rugby is growing through initiatives like Love Rugby and new U12–U14 programmes, though coaching and infrastructure remain challenges. Clubs were reminded of RFU and external grants, stressing accurate data for eligibility.

Coaching development focuses on mentoring and diversity, while Saracens and Harlequins outlined inclusive player pathways. Additional initiatives include T1 non-contact rugby and the STAR scheme for vulnerable children. Clubs should complete facilities capture forms and promote upcoming coach development courses.
